i need help have a 1990 ford ranger i need to get the calipers off to change out the brake pads how do i get the pins out of the top and bottom of the caliper
+1, assuming you've turned them out as far as the threads will go. As jrfateranger said, buy new ones. If you have to drive them out, they're probably corroded to the point that even if you clean them up, they'll corrode again quickly and jam. Don't forget to clean the calipers and steering knuckle well where the friction surfaces are and smear a film of wheel bearing grease on the same surfaces.
I was suppose to get new pins when I got my new calipers. Never did. I've been using the ones on there fine. I suppose I'll buy some new ones when it gets new bearings, rotors, and pads in the fall
yeah and i enjoy doing this kind of stuff myself gives me a real sense of satisfaction. now i know where to go to get the info i need to work on my truck. thanks again for your help.
