engine pinging?? HELP!!

i changed my spark plugs the other day and used but newer wires and not i have this clicking or pinging sound when ever i step on the gas more than half way? i herd it might be the gap on the plugs so i took them out again and the gap was fine but it still dose it?? CAN YOU HELP ME?!?!?!?

replace the wires if they were not new.

do you have correct order on wires?

yes they are in the corret order. is there any thing eles it could be??

my '87 used to make a pingy type noise, and it just turned out to be a cracked exhuast manifold

did it make the noise all the time or just when you booted the gas??

Check the timing.

Make certain the wires are routed properly. I think it is 7&8 and 5&3 will crossfire if they are not routed away from one another. At least that's the way it is on the 95 302 that I have.
