Spark plug gap cause pining?
My 93 5.0 says .055 - .056 on the sticker under the hood for plug gap.
It seems to ping under load no matter what timing. I see most people are gapping at .044 for 5.0's...would this make much difference?

A closer gap will give you a hotter spark. A larger gap will extend the "spark duration" in each cylinder but a weaker spark if you ciol is weak you might want to put a hotter aftermarket coil on if you think this is a problem. I would just run at .044

I have 2 cylinders with lower compression (like 120 I think). I'm wondering if setting to a closer gap (.044) might give me better combustion and help smooth my idle and better emissions reading (didn't pass). any thoughts?
