I haven't even completed the Sixlitre tuneup and we're already pinging. I have the MSD 8227 coil installed, along with new wires and plugs at .055". Timing is sitting at 11 degrees right now, I did that a long time ago.
And it pings like crazy. Almost undrivable besides idling around town. Am I forgetting something, or are all you Sixlitre guys running super gas? Remember, the only changes I've made so far are the coil and plug gap.
I don't want to have to run super, so if that's the answer then what's the best way to put it back? Will making the plug gap narrower take care of it?
I think you got it! I didn't pay too much attention to that when I put the wires together. The coil wire, especially was touching a few wires, and I straightened some other wires. It's not pinging, at least for the trip to town I just made. Thanks!
