Is this accurate?

I just bought a pyrometer and i mounted the probe on the drivers side manifold just between number 1 and 2 cylinders. Is this accurate enough or should i have mounted underneath by the exhaust outlet pipe?

well most people mount it at the back of the mainfold where the up-pipe attaches but i suppose you should be good where you have it. it will only be measuring the 1 cylinder and not the whole bank which could have its draw backs

Kinda to late to move it to, haha. The cylinder temps vary from cylinder to cylinder. Bank temp is what your lookin for and the best place to get it would be at the uppie collector. You'll be fine if you understand the temps in cylinder 3 may be diffrent then cylinder 1. Good luck
