Hello, I just purchased an 2005 EB Expedition and when I have it parked in my driveway or on the street with the doors locked the horn will chirp when a loud car goes by. Is there a way to turn this off or adjust the sensitivity of the system? All the doors are closed when this happens. also the horn sounds when the car is locked and someone tries to open a door. This might be normal, but the owners manual say nothing about this. Any help would be appreciated!!!!
SOunds to me you have a 'piggy back' aftermarket or Ford Accessory Alarm. Can you post a pic of your remote?
There will be a shock sensor under the dash somewhere usually a black or clear plastic box with an adjustment on it, you adjust the sensitivity on the box itself (may need a little screwdriver to help you).
The remote is a factory remote I will look for a box under the dash and keep you posted. The regular alarm isn't set up with a shock sensor is it.......?
I was just under the dash and there was a black box with an antenna and a valet switch attached. It was a Ford system with a thing that looked like a prom when I pulled it out of the black box. When I pulled the "prom" out of the box one of the pins was bent badly. I straightened the pin as best as possible and reinserted the "prom". I didn't see an adjustment screw on the box although it was dark.
Any suggestions or instructions on how to use the valet switch would be greatly appreciated...
