how to tone down the alarm chirps

I've looked in the owner manual and did not see anything about the alarm volume or to mute it.

My 2000 X used to only toot the horn whenever I arm the alarm. Never any chirps.

Recently, the battery drained because I'd left a door ajar all day. Now, everytime I use the alarm remote, it chirps when I arm/unarm the alarm. If it's armed and I hit the lock button again, then it will chirp and toot the horn too.

I want to disable the annoying chirps. I've search the forum to no avail.

Thanks.

I had remote start and an aftermarket auto lock module installed. My X no longer chirps.

hmmm... not sure why it has never chirps before until the battery was completely drained. Obviously there is a way to disable the chirps. Anyone, anyone? Ferris?

Find the little bugger and start adding masking tape...quit when you like the muted sound.

Masking tape, baling wire = should have Ford part numbers!
