I really don't see anything funny. You are always calling on admin. I think he should take a good look at you. That's all I'm saying on this thread untill I hear what was the matter with the truck I originally posted about.
PS I will assume you were not laughing about my uncle!
Hahahahahahahahaha. I feel bad your uncle is dyin kid but your Ideeers of what a cowboy is are diffrent then mine and thats cool(it must be a east coast thing) Cowboys are a dying breed because of that sterotype and that stereotype gives us real Cowboys bad names. its the same stereotype Hollywood has depicted us as for many many years and you kids think you have to live it the way they depict it to be, lol. You have much to learn. As you drag this yourself off topic somemore i do need to mention this was never brought truely off topic by me, its been a discussion for quite sometime and its getting outta hand and outta control. As I said this topic has moved to PM's were it should've been in the first place.
COWBOY Steve
First of all don't call me a kid. I'm 57. Second you have no idea what I think a cowboy is. It has nothing to do with Hollywood. Third you need to get an education. Especially Geography. Texas is no where near the East Coast.
Im from Montana and I for one know what a real "Cowboy" is, and a Real one would not be on FTE posting in this stupid thread, He would be out watering the Horses and feeding the cattle or some thing to do with Ranch work not throwing insults, whining/complaining etc......at least on FTE.
You guys need to take this off-topic argument to the "General Discussion" thread or get back on topic.
What is with that monster power drink advertising? All the ha ha and spelling errors must be a side effect of that stuff. The kiddie needs a time out and eventually he will pipe down. How come kiddies associate themselves with brands? I am curious to see how many more new trucks check in with "blown" engines if they are running tunes, SCT or otherwise. The tuners might have to offer more hold harmless agreements with the tunes.
I started this post and you are right it is way off topic. You are a major reason it is off. Your have no idea what a cowboy is. The last real cowboy I know is my Uncle Howard. He is 85 years old and is dying in Stephenville Texas. So please don't insult him by pretending to be a cowboy. This thread was intended to be a discussion about warrenty on tuned 6.4's, not a rant and puffing out your chest.
Blue Ghost, I hope you get your truck fixed. I won't say it on this forum, but we all know what kind of folks sell cars, so don't feel bad for using your warranty.
I used to live in Stephenville, nice little place, met my wife their at little roping. Hope your uncle passes with pride......85 years in s-ville he has seen alot and I bet been in a scrap or 2 himself...... Don't let these guys ruffle your feathers, back when I was rodeing I have been in the NorthWest, places like Sisters, OR, Portland, OR and Pasco, WA, etc.......there are some good people up there and then they have their tranplants just like the Republic of Texas does.
If you been here for 57 years and was born and raised a Texan, then I have no doubt you know how to handle anybody at the dealership that gives you any friction.
Good Luck with your truck...............I am off to Montana to learn how to be a "real cowboy" antelope rancher...................haha
before u get your feathers ruffled their montana.......In the past I have hunted and rodeod all across that state.........always stop at Trixies' in Ovando, I believe that the right town off the top of my head for a steak and beer.........but its very true we are differnt here in the Lone Star state............where parents still fist fight at the high school rodeos.......hahahaha....gotta love it or leave it

riatia, Thanks for the comments. I was born and raised on a ranch in Brown County. Have lived in Texas all my life except 10 years in the Navy. I have been in all 50 states and have found good people in all of them. Do you remember Buck Williams? We spent a many a fun nights there cutting calves and roping.
My Uncle is handling this as he has everything in life. With dignity and pride. He is a great man.
By the way that is not my truck broke. I do have a KR 4wd 6.4 that I have discussed with the service manager about tuning. He will tell me if and when it is safe to tune. Pretty good without the tune. I have 5000 miles on it now.
Well the engine in question was not blown. It appears the radiator just failed. That is good news but doesn't alter the fact if it had been an engine ford would have denied a claim. They were able to tell it had been tuned.
It's funny how somethings never change. I used to frequent this site, but frankly got sick of the overuse of the term "stealership", and even more so of the people that think it's just fine to modify the crap out of your engine (6.0s in general, which IMO is already pushed to the limits from the factory), and then try to hide everything in the event of an engine issue so as to not have to pay. I don't know what everybody here does for a living, but imagine you are a roofer... you just did my roof, then I decided I would drill a satellite dish into it, and guess what... it leaks! Will you give me warranty on the work that you did, or are you going to charge me for it? Stealing warranty costs everybody from the technician, to the service advisor, managers and so on. It even costs new truck buyers, because guess what... warranty money does not magically appear in FMCs bank account. It is (generally) reflected in the price of a new vehicle. That's all.
Ok, well what if you dont even attempt to hide it?
They still deny the claim. You can fight it, they can tear the motor down and look at the combustion pattern on the head and the wear indications on the bearings to determine if it was a defect or tuner that caused the failure. If it's determined to be a defect then they will honor the warranty and apologize. If they determine it was the tuner you either have to pay for a dead truck, or still pay for the truck, but also for a new engine.

What i find intresting, is the 6.4 engine manual states that running the engine at high boost for a prolong time can damage the engine. Its my opnion that this statement could leave you hung to dry without a programmer even being involved. What is considerded a prolong time? Is a 20 mile grade at 5% at 90 degrees outside temp to much or is a 6% 2 mile grade to much at 118 degree temp. Without a pyro gauge how would you know?
Coolant temps could be in the acceptable range, but the EGT's could be burning up. Using this as an example, would the dealer claim you had a programmer if the engine burned up and deny you warranty?
