Looking for cheap performance across the web I have stumbled across modifying or replacing the "Octane Rod" situated in the distributor. Supposedly one can change the timing curve by modifying it or replacing it with one designed for higher octane grades. So my question is where does one get such high octane rods from or what needs to be modified to use 98' octane (German 4 Star petrol)?
Don't know about the octane rod but a chip can be programmed to do the same thing plus you get better shifting. Also with the Diablo Delta you can get a switchable program so you can go back regular gas without having to exchange parts.
