LOVIN 7.3 -
I'd be happy to chip in my time. I need to do mine sometime soon as well. I might try to do one side one night and then do the other the next. I need a new outer shaft, and it's coming from Utah. So it's going to be next week sometime. Let me know when you plan on tackling yours.
Just got done doing mine. I did one side on Wednesday night. Took about 3 hours, and did the other side this morning, took 2 hours. Amazing the education you teach yourself on what works and what's a waste of time. I also replaced my outter shafts as they were worn badly (I knew this going into it, did the needle bearing service about 4 months ago).
No tire leanage and steering is tight. Time for new tires and rims!
Lovin7.3 - let me know when you're thinking about tackling it. It's a job, that's for sure. BIG HAMMER is your friend on those balljoints. I couldn't get the Autozone balljoint remover to work very well.

Matt
Good deal Matt. Should've let me know, I would've helped out.
Has anyone replaced the "inner oil seals" on the front end? I'm not talking about the ones right at the hub or the "dust seals" at the ends of the housing. I'm talking the ones in-board closer to the pumpkin?
Those are the only consumable items I didn't replace when I did mine. Next time I do the job I want to make sure I get those as well.
I appreciate that. Next time!
I was so glad I did at my work. I couldn't get the nut off the top ball joint on the driverside. It kept spinning. I pounded the pickle fork into it and it still spun. Finally, I got the portable electric bandsaw out and cut f 'er off.
yeah I havnt had time to do mine. I got that kit from Powerstrokeshop.com and a buddy of mine that works for the ford dealership is going to do it for me. I have been working 6 ten hour days and I am getting married in two weeks so the ball joints arnt at the top of the priorority list if you know what I mean!!
