Changed the UJoints last week....bad move...I now have a vibration that comes in at about 65 mph. Rotated the drive shaft 180 degrees, greased slip yoke, replaced lower ball joints (they looked questionable), rotated tires.....vibration still there....any suggestions. I should have left well enough alone..I only had a small clunk before!!!!! Thanks
Vibration feels 'solid', i.e., it feels like it is from the drive train. The steering wheel does not shake or move side to side. Hope that makes sense.
Our 96 Explorer had a vibration that occurred at different speeds for a few seconds as if we had driven over a cattle guard. Are the vibrations being felt the same as this or are they continuous. What we did, after a bunch of research, was removed a few ounces of tranny fluid and added a few ounces of the limited slip fluid, the same stuff used in the rear diff. Been making 600 mile round trip drives and the vibrations are gone. Just a thought...
I was wondering the same thing.Could it be tranny shudder? My bronco started what I thought was a vibration at about 60mph, but it turned out to be tranny shudder.I added some Dr. Tranny instant shudder fix and it went away. This was after a fluid and filter swap to fix problem.Just my 2 cents
