When i reprogrammed my sct with new tunes and i try to load them into my truck it does not seem to be working coreectly. When it says turn key on do not start vehicle i do that but it will not go any farther it says an error. It will not read my codes or read my trucks strategy. Anyone ever had this happed
no but the tunes are yours. I got the tuner used.
It does this on both of our 2007 f-250s.
This is the first time i have used it so i am thinking its probably the programmer itself.
Any ideas would be great on how to get it working.
Thanks
It is programmed to the original truck from the guy you bought it from. LIPD should be able to reset it for you as you purchased their tunes. These are sold and programmed to the specific viehicle for lic. protection issues.
i cleared the tuner through the live load software and installed the tunes. The tech at sct said if the tuner does not have the latest firmware (1.15) than it will not work. I am going to try to update that this evening and see what happens.
Thanks to everyone for the help

I'm quite sure that once a programmer is locked to a vehicle only SCT can unlock it. I know LIPD cannot. Otherwise what would be the point in lic. protection? I think SCT charges about $150 to unlock a programmer and you have to send it in. I also know that an SCT programmer can only be used on different vehicles like 5 times before it locks.
the programmer does not seemed to be locked. I erased the tunes and even changed it to a 9400. Installed new tunes from lipd. Just when i plug it in and try to program it will not read the truck. Cannot read or clear dtc's or even read trucks strategy.
Sounds like the person you got the tuner from has it locked to his vehicle or maybe it's just gone bad. I'd give SCT a call back and talk to tech support and see what they say. I'd also call whoever you bought the tuner from and ask them if they returned their vehicle back to stock before they sold it to you. If not then you'll have to send it to SCT.
just got off the phone with sct and they said the unit is not working correctly. It is not vin locked it is just not working. Gonna try to ship it to them to get it fixed thanks for all the help
