Got my stock airbox-(from an '05), took K&N almost completely off and got a good look at the 2 screws on the MAF sensor. Crap, don't have a torx with a hole in it to remove these 2 screws! Had to put the K&N back on 'til I can get the right tool to remove these. Guess I gotta go to the dealership to get this tool? Any suggestions? Also the '05 airbox doesn't appear to have the 2 holes for these screws to go into. Anyone else have this predicament? I guess I would just drill the holes in the tube to fasten it? Thanks, Tim
You can find those Torx bits with the holes in the center at a variety of tool stores. I think I picked up my set through either Harbor Freight or Northern Tool. They are used all over the place though. I've seen them on everything from hard disk drives to bathroom fixtures in public restrooms.
I was able to use a small flat head to fit in the side of these screws and they weren't torqued to tight so they came free. Just an alternative to buying a new set of tools for just one job. Some auto parts store loan tools as well with a deposit. Check there 1st.
