Ok, I starting my body prep for painting this weekend and have a couple of questions. 1-how are the vent windows removed? 2-is removing the front and rear windows a do-it-yourself task or am i askign for trouble (the front window can be replaced-but my rear window has a custom etching that i dont want to break)? Last, if i do remove the front window, how dose one remove the chrome trim without mangeling it?
Removed a number of vent windows, however, the article in Dennis Carpenter catalog much better at explaining. If you do not have a copy of their catalog you can go to their website and download the catalog and scroll down to page 123.
With regards to the vent window removal, suggest run a search on window replacement in the 61-66 forum, topic has come up on number of occasions. There is also an article in the 'spec's/article' forum: https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...ord_Truck.html
Had to replace windshield on one of my 65's because previous owner had done the installation himself and it leaked like a sieve. Originally did not come with the window trim so not sure how to remove with it. Broke the windshield on my 65 in storage and did not want to rish having to replace another, endede up taking to shop where they first set the trim in the gasket, applied sealant, then set windshield into the channel can it came out great, this was few years ago, and no leaks.
