The risk is running more back pressure than the exhaust valve springs are rated for, for example if the exhaust valve springs are rated for 45PSI and you exceed that you run the risk of sucking one of the valves open and slapping it with the piston.

Most major name brands of exhaust brakes (BD, Pac, Banks) have their brakes carefully regulated to prevent this. Our BD Brake uses industry leading variable orifice technology to control back pressure, 25 years with out a floated valve!

Lol, nice! Have a great one yourself Dave. This coming week were gonna need to discuss exhaust brakes for my 6.4. As well as tranny controllers for the brake. Thought I'd give ya fair warning, lol
