Slow Brake Pedal Return

My 65 F100 has a booster, but it was not hooked up to vacuum. Bought it this way. I hooked it up to the Intake Manifold port. Brakes work great, but the pedal comes back up slowly. Do I need a new Booster?

Joe:
I doubt your booster functioning or not has anything to do with your pedal return. There could be some binding in the master cylinder due to debris or a problem in the return springs in the drums (assuming you have drums). You may want to bleed the system and check the condition of the fluid first.

How did the brakes work before you hooked up the booster? Sounds like the PO didn't do something right and that's why it wasn't hooked up.

Like resonateur says, check everything because you don't know what someone else did. Watch out for the mickey mouse stuff.

Good luck

Thanks for the input fella's. Might not get to it until spring now. Snow is coming soon. Pedal returned fine before I hooked up the Booster. I'll give it a good going over anyway, before I buy any new parts. No telling how old the fluid is, etc.

I honestly don’t recall. Sorry wish I could help. Think I sold that truck in 2015. My 66 doesn’t have power brakes.
