Why does this bypass only work when the A/C is on RECIRC mode? When the AC is on outside air is when the ac on these trucks perform the poorest. At idle, with outside air on, mine will barely cool the temp 10 degrees from ambient. Once you are moving it will knock it down to about 50 or so, so i was thinking that the bypass should operate during that time as well. Is there a reason behind this?
Are you speaking of the heater bypass?
Recirc (MAX) is for cooling the cab to the max.
Recirculate the cooled dehumidified inside air makes it the coldest possible.
NORM (outside air) just moderately cools the air and you can even mix in a little heated air via the temp control blend-air door.
