Does anyone know if the proportioning valve for 1979 ford truck is the same if it has power brakes or non power disck brakes?
I am going to do a conversion on 1968 and i'm not sure if i am going with power or non power.
Also is there a difference in master cylinders?
Run up to the parts store and find out if the portioning valve is the same for each application. they could have the same part number or not, its a 50/50 chance

Please list the exact model and series you are working on, it makes answering questions easier.
1975/79 F100/150 2 or 4 WD with disc brakes used only one valve:
D5TZ-2B257-B .. Disc Brake Proportioning Valve.
Parts catalog makes no reference concerning power brakes, so the valve will work either way.

I'm not sure about your question. But most drum brake fronts had some sort of residual psi system for the cylinders, so you would want to eliminate that feature if the system had it and you went to front disc, power or non power.
Install a mstr/booster combo for a 1979 F-350 with disc brakes for $120 from Advance Auto. You will get a much bigger mstr/booster and increased brake performance. It will bolt right in.
