I'm really wanting to upgrade the sound in my lightning. I've seen one premanufactured but by a junk company, and seen one in a lightning at an SVTOA event built into the back wall. Any ideas?
i have a 99 4x4 ext. cab, i know my truck is different than urs , i just happen to see ur post and thought i would tell u what i did, maybe it will help, maybe not, idk. but anyway, i built my own box after getting the dimensions that i needed from the speaker box. I found a speaker from pioneer, 10" woofer, that only needs like 3" of clearance if i remember correctly. Pioneer made it just for trucks, to fit under the seat, and it hits Hard, has a good warranty with it, they would replace it right over the counter. I have a thousand watt amp bridged and she takes it with no problem. Everyone is suprised with my small box how great it sounds, and very clear !!
i have 4 6x9 with a amp and it is loud, it dosent hit real hard but i turn it up and it is loud and clear with some thud, i wanted a sub but didnt have the room so i tried this and it works out great did it all for like 500 bucks....i have pioneer 4way 6x9 with a alpine amp.
yeah, i dont see why not..... just a few more wires into the mix and your in..... are you going to keep the factory radio or add aftermarket ?? either way you will have to buy an adapter for the stock or rca plugs for the aftermarket but its not brain surgery......
