The dealer told me today that because of the new ulsd that I will have to add an additive to my fuel to keep the fuel system lubed or it will continue to keep failing.
They said that the sulfur is yhe only thing that lubes the fuel system in older diesel engines.
I do about 1k miles @ week........that could be pretty costly!!
I do the same amount of driveing. And just started useing p.s. diesel kleen.I was skeptical at first about the claims that were made here. But wow it works as described.I buy the 96oz.grey bottle and it lasts a little better than 2 weeks. It cost me 18 dollaers for the big jug at a truck stop but i have heard you can get it at wal-mart too.

That statement right there should tell you that he didn't know what he was talking about.
Diesels do not need sulfur. In fact, sulfur is not a lubricant. The process that strips sulfur from diesel also strips the lubricity. However that lubricity is put back in the form of addtives before it is ever sold to the public. All ULSD must meet federal highway standards for lubricity, the same standards as the previous fuel.
If a dealer tells you that the current ULSD is the cause for your problems, then you need to find a new shop to take your truck. They are feeding you lies.
