1) I've been thinking about exhaust plumbing... What are the pros and cons of using a V10 header flange and making a custom header that exits up and in front of the engine and putting a turbo flange right on the end? And if that's too much of a pain to do (both welding and bending wise), are using the stock log manifolds a bad idea, or is a nice flow from headers still a better way to go? (I think I know some of these answers, just throwing it out there.
Forgive the noob question - are the V10 headers cast iron?
I am guessing they are... and if so, welding to them can be a biatch (although not impossible), and I don't know how they would hold up to the much greater temps/pressure when a turbo is bolted to them.
Stainless headers would be ideal with a machined stainless flange, but I can also appreciate that it may be outside of the budget you might have for such a project.

As for packaging, if you are going to fit an intercooler, front mount is much easier (its what a lot of the drag racing crowd does with LS/mod motors now days)

2) Where does the MAF go? Before or after the turbos? O2 sensors? Before or after?
MAF needs to go before the turbo's, as it reads at atmospheric pressure.

02 sensors it doesn't matter hugely. Before the turbo's is ideal (as long as you don't get them hotter than their rated temp) as it means quicker warm up for them - they don't read well when cold.

The stock V10 manifolds are stainless - mild, but stainless nonetheless. I was talking about using stainless eBay headers for the flanges, and modifying as necessary.

Thanks for the info on the MAF - makes sense, I figured it would need uncompressed air to read correctly.

Gotta take a good long hard look under the hood. It would be a FUN project...

As for the O2 sensors, they are heated, so temp is not the problem, just location. If they can be put after the turbos, that's probably best in terms of location, not so good for measuring real-time.
