I just recently started using motorcraft cetane booster (pm 21b?) and I actually think this stuff works! On my second tank and I havn't gotten any smoke and also the knocking sound has subsided. Its pretty cheap stuff too. I got a bottle that will treat 125 gallons of fuel for $6.50 from the dealer.

If you use cetane additive you will see an increase in your fuel economy. The higher the Cetane count the more energy that can be made or extracted from each gallon of fuel. So, the higher the number the better your mileage!!!
I run the amsiol Diesel fuel additive and the cetane boost at the same time. I have picked up 2 mpg.
