Fuel additive with cetane...Unlike gas which has octane numbers diesel is rated in cetane numbers
Diesel Kleene is the product name. Comes in 32oz bottle will raise cetane by 3 to 6 depending on how much you add.
Lots of folks here swear by it. I use it when on the road away from my Fuel pump at the farm (pay full taxes). I use B5 soy premium fuel as my first choice. Premium fuel when on the road if I find it. And lastly straight #2 with diesel Kleen in grey bottle.
If I remember Ford recommends a Cetane rating of 45+ for the new 6.4. And a study revealed that most pumps with ULSD are rated below that, around 40-43. So using a cetane additive will defiantly help combustion in the motor. Ford does recommend using the Motorcraft brand cetane additive, but they push motorcraft for everything so I think the brand you were talking about would work fine.
I wish international would build an engine that was designed to run on the diesel that was available at a gas station, lol. why build an engine that runs on 45 cetane when 40-43 is average? dosent make sense to me. I just keep quiet an add my DK.

I have been using a produst by RBP. They have a power additive and an additive that takes conditions and helps remove water from fuel. They claim the power additive raises the cetane 10 points.
You only have to add a few ounces, verus's alot of the product you are looking at.

The motors will run on less than 45 cetane, the benefit of increased cetane number is. reduced white smoke at cold startup, reduced noise and reduced odor.

I should have said that earlier. Diesels can run on cetane ratings ranging from 40-55 with no problem. I've just heard that it's better to run the trucks somewhere in the middle of that range for the reasons you mentioned.

Just looked at the RBP website and the additive pages. Looks like the bottles have two caps. Do you mix two parts from the bottle and then pour the mixture in your tank?
Too tired to read all of the posts, but I just traveled 1045 miles and I added the booster to my tank for the first three refills. I seemed to get about one mile per gallon better mileage with the additive than without. I was pulling an 8K lbs. trailer as well. I still only averaged about 7.5 mpg at 80-85 MPH. 3600 miles on the truck so far...
