hey tell me if this is about right. just got 513 gears and a full spool and open carrier in the front. for the rear total 705 for the front 825? is that right or did i get ripped off. should of got gears from 4wheel parts instead of buying everything seperate such as gears shim kit, bearing kit, when 4wheel parts has it all in one kit
gears for the 9" and d44, about 200.00 each axle.
master install kits, about 100.00 each axle.
Spool (steel) about 200.00.
Open carrier, about 60.00
Total parts, about 860.00 in parts alone, a little bit of labor to install, not too bad.
You got out of there for $ 1600.00. That is not so bad.
ok well if 4wheels parts had all you need for 488 plus a spool for 149 and all labor was was 160 rear and 300 front idk. anyone got gears from 4wheel parts and did it have everything?
All I know is that I wouldnt let 4wheel parts touch my truck!!!! I bought My for from a guy who had 4wheel do his lift and regear. The lift they did iss completely wrong and illeagle. They stacked blocks and put wrong block in(2.5 on a 3inch spring) The drive line angles were so off when i got it that it snaped the rear yoke flange twice in 2 month. The detroit they installed in the rear is not installed right as well i think. I know tey make a lot of nosie and such while driving and turning but mines a little exsesive. Anywho thats just my .02

Have not seen a law that restricted the use of multiple blocks. (While I think maybe there should be, there is not). Many aftermerket companies (manufacturers) simply use a 2.5" block under 3" springs. This is very common to see. Does not make it right, but this is what the manufacturer provides, it is not the fault of the installer. Kits that are a bit more expensive will have the proper all spring configuration, but cost more money. When some guys do lifts on the cheap side, this is the result. I am not a big fan of 4wheel parts either, but in this case, they are recieving the short end, and appears to be a little underserved.
As far as the locker goes, was the locker noisy, or was the gear set noisy? If the mesh was not set properly, and the gears are singing, then they should be responsible, but if the locker is just noisy, then the problem is mechanical, and again not the fault of the installer.
