Replacing Rotors Need tools
I am replacing the front rotors on my wife's 2000 Excursion and I need to know if I have the correct spindle nut tool and if there are any more specialty tools that I need. I have one for an older truck but it doesn't work on my '97. Does anyone have a schematic of the parts? Any info and suggestions will be helpful.

You need a hammer if its stuck. They are just a rotor, no hub assembly inside of it. After you take off the caliper, and mounting bracket and the pads the rotor will just slide over the lugs. If its stuck is may take some hitting to get it off, maybe some rust breaker. These brakes are not like the old ones.

Oh. Thanx for the good news. I was thinking it would be like my '97. Boy you just made my day. I get them in on Thursday and have to go to the beach on Friday and I wasn't thinking I was going to be able to pull this one off. Whew!!!

Yup, the caliper slide pins may be a bit of a pain in the ****, if they have been on there awhile they maybe stuck inside the bracket. Be prepared for that. I belive its an 18mm socket, and 12mm for the caliper and caliper mounting bracket, but idr.

Kool. The thing vibrates violently at high speed braking. I hope this is it. It needs them anyway. The thing that puzzled me is that the pedal doesn't pulse at slow stops it just works smooth. I am going to rotate and balance the tires hopefully today then the brakes next.
