Tetanus Vaccination?

Anyone here know how often you should get a tetanus vaccination? I'ts been years since my last one and I'm thinking about getting one.

I think I went 10 years since the last shot. I totally forgot until I had to take my little girl in for her first set of immunization shot, she asked when the last time I had one and decided to stick me with a needle. 6-7 years sounds about right though.

I'm taking my daughter in for the last of her shots before college so I guess I'll get a Tetanus shot while I'm there.

Seems like every 7-10 years. I seem to get one every time I'm in for stitches, and it hurts worse than the cut.

Boosters should be done within no longer than 10 years from each other

last tetanus shot I got was last year. The doctor said they are good for 10 years. I get a new shot every 5 years like clock work. I still had another 2 years.
But I work with an Idiot co-worker. Some days he is about as bright as a burnt out light bulb in a room void of any light. But that is another topic for a venting day.

I know they say it is good for ten years, but every time I go for treatment of a cut or other injury (seems like every 5 years or so) they stick me anyway.
Better safe than sorry! I have read descriptions of death caused by tetanus and it ain't pretty!

Second this. If I can't recall when I had a booster, it's likely time to get one. The new formulations don't act like a mule kick anymore, and if you massage it awhile after the shot, you won't notice a thing.

I've never had a tetanus vacation, but I did get real sick once on vacation. I think it might have been from a bad buritto.

i have ended up getting one every few years or so for various reasons, last one was because i was drunk and punched a beer bottle breaking it, left a nice deep cut on my knuckle.
