So the input shaft seal was bad on my 60 F-100's 3 speed. I ordered a new one from Advance Auto and made the mistake of throwing away the old one while I was waiting. The wrong part came in, and now I'm kinda SOL. It's a Ford trans (HEF U), but every time I order the Ford Input Shaft seal, it is way too small. One of the obsolete parts guys told me the PN is C1TZ7062A. I have been unable to cross it to a new part here locally. Anybody with better connections than myself able to help? Thanks,

Your transmission has been changed, it's the all syncro Ford 3 speed first used in 1963.
HEF-U / 1963 223 6 cylinder / 3 Speed ALL SYNCRO
1957/63 Ford Truck Parts Catalog / Section 70.1 / Parts List 1X
Ford just loves to update part numbers:
The original input shaft oil seal number was: >>C3TZ-7A283-B
This was replaced by: D0AZ-7A283-A
This number was replaced by: D8UZ-7A283-A
This last number has also been replaced by >>D8UZ-7A283-B<<
This number is still available from Ford. List Price is $4.69.
NAPA will be able to cross these #'s over to whatever brand of seal they sell.
btw: No such number as 7062 anything.

Wow, that is amazing information, thank you very much. That would definitely explain why I keep getting the wrong part. I wondered about that transmission since it has a mount on the tail shaft housing for a frame cross member. The truck has no cross member, leaving the entire weight of the transmission supported by the four bolts at the bell housing. It seems like something is not right there.....how was it done with the original trans? Thanks again for your help, I'll pick up the right seal today.
Strangely, I found the remains of the old seal today. The only marking on it is the Ford logo, and C/R. The OD is 1 7/8". Not sure about the ID since it was dry rotted and cracked out.
