Smile New Process 435 transmissions

Hi!
My name is Paul and I have a '66 F100 with a 352 and a New Process 435
4 speed manual trans. Will the transmission work with a 390 engine?
Are the input shafts different lengths on a 390 and a 352 NP 435 trans?
I am considering swapping my 352 for a 390 and would like to keep my
same transmission, if possible.
Thanks for any advice!
- Paul

Yes you can bolt it right up to the 390 when ya do just a suggestion go ahead and put in a new cluch and throwout bearing. It will save you some problems later on if you need to put in a new clutch.

Dear Scouder, Thomas and Gashog -
Thanks for your replies! It sounds like I might be OK, now if I only had some $!
I agree with you Thomas, I was thinking the same thing about the throwout bearing
and the clutch. Are there other complications that may be encountered when
swapping a 390 for a 352 in a 2X2 '66 F100? Happy Holidays to you all, and to all
a good night! Thanks, gentlemen!
- Paul

Not that i know of it's all set for an FE and since they are both FE's there should be no complications with the swap.

Don't forget to replace the pilot bushing. It may be a cheap part but if it's worn it could cause problems later. Just a suggestion.

Geez Louise, I thought I was the eldest member of this forum, but you're 6 years older than I.
