1989 ranger electric problems

I just got the rebuilt 2.3 back in my 1989 4x4 ranger. But iam haveing electric problems. I have replaced the tps, cps, and the thing is running pretty smooth at ideal but when i go to take it for a drive it cuts out. i hooked a scanner up to it and it said that maf; ecs, and a couple more sensors are all saying high voltage. when i turn on a turn signal the oil pressure gauge moves with the blinker has any one have this problem before (iam find out a its pretty common) if so what could be the problem

The goofy oil gauge sounds like a ground problem. Did you reconnect the engine to firewall ground strap?

The sensors should get battery voltage.

What codes (numbers) did you pull?

there is a eingine to to fire wall ground? i know i hooked one up to the frame. Thats what i think the whole problem is (a ground issue) there is a ground strap going from the the back intake bolt that i put to the frame not a 100% sure if thats were it goes or not. i was lookin at a wiring diagram and all the sensors that were flakein have a common ground but i cant seem to find it in the engine compartment maily because i dont have a reference point to start looking for it.

I took a quick look at the EVTM for my 87 Ranger & then popped the hood.

The engine ground strap is right where the EVTM shows.

One end bolts (stud & nut) to the firewall right beside the wiper motor & the other end bolts to the rear of the driver side cylinder head on my 2.9.

If I had an 89, i'd also have the EVTM for it & could tell you for sure, but my guess is the manifold should be grounded to the fire wall not the frame.

Had you filed or wire brushed the contact area till bright? A little rust or oil can disrupt the connection. Then hit it with a little rustoleum to protect it.

So i moved the ground and it didnt fix anything. I did find a broken ground wire that fixed the screwy gauges. The thing is still ideling rough and starts sucking air when u try to give it gas and when it comes back down to idel it pulses. but if you take out the sorting bar by the cps sensor it runs and acclerateds just fine. any idea
