No there is a guy at work who claims his miles per gallon increased by 6 miles per gallon
on both of his cars after he used it. They have a website. I thought maybe someone on this website has tried it. I think its more for engines with alot of miles on it. My 08
V-10 has only 3900 miles on it. I thought if it only increases my milage by 1 to 2 mpg
it would be worth it.This is not a joke
However, I recommend you purchase the product and report back. But...keep in mind that 1 bottle and 5000 miles is not a "TRUE" test. You would have to do it at least 3 or 4 times...and get a real average.
BG44K cleans carbon off of valves. If your friend has an older car that he doesn't maintain very well, the carbon build up probably got bad enough that his MPG dropped a considerable amount. Now, with the carbon gone, of course the MsPG improve...but 6 MPG?? must have been a 3 cylinder Geo or something.
Now the MPG will drop again and the motor will stall due to a clogged up cat.
I doubt you will see any MPG benefit on a new vehicle of any kind. If you do a lot of short trip or stop and go driving then it would be preventative maintainance at best.
Quality gasoline and some good wide open throttle runs a couple of times a week on a good warm motor are just as effective though. (to prevent carbon build up, not increase MPG )
TJ....your motor isn't even broken in yet and you already want to put an additive in it? Wait till your motor is broken in and see what your mpg's is. Driving it like there is an egg under your foot is the best way to improve mileage in a V-10. That's no fun tho.
As others have said, BG44K is a well known fuel system cleaner. It will clean the intake valves, tops of pistons, injectors etc. It would really only benefit a higher mileage engine, and you should see nothing when used in your new '08.
And as others have said, if you use a high quality gasoline, you should really never need the product to begin with. When I tore down the top end of my '93, 4.9L inline 6, I expected to see all kinds of gunk on the intake valve stems. They were pretty much clean. Over the 267,000 miles I racked up on that engine, I used Exxon, Chevron, Mobil, Texaco, Valero, Amoco, Gulf, Shell, Sunoco, BP, and then BP/Amoco. Mostly Chevron over the last 100,000 miles I owned the truck. And no gunk on the intake valves.
Leave the BG44K on the shelf, break in that new motor, and enjoy yer V10!
