KPayne please
Kpayne,
This is for Mr. Payne only if you would please. As far as the chips go I am interested in purchasing one. I have read alot on them and read about all of these chip posts I can stand. I am trying to get a honest unbiased opinion if you would please. I drive a 95 Ford F150 4X 5.8L Eddie Bauer Supercab w/ E4OD tranny. It is lifted 6" susp. 3" body and 36" meats. The question I have is how do these two chips compare, the Diablo and its counterpart, sorry can't remember the other chips name. The numbers of HP and torque + are what. Also could I run this with the Banks tranny chip? Is this truely cost effective, does it require 93 or 90 octane. I understand what premium fuel is, but I live in Germany and there is a different way of calculating the octane ratings here. I know you get flooded with these questions all the time, but it seems every post on here has twenty attachments, so some info gets jumbled. As far as the gentlemen you have had lenghty posts on the chip voiding warranty, I couldn't guess what he was thinking, and I do remember him writing the 130+ post. Just like to say thank-you for your time.

Since I sell them, I can't give a completely unbiased opinion, but I will be as factual as possible, given my experience.
You can run it with the Banks, but only if you run the Banks at the lowest setting. If it turns out to be too harsh of a combination, you can remove the Banks since the chip gives many of the same benefits.
The Superchip for the 5.8 is rated at 25 HP and 45 HP. I don't have dyno results for the Diablo for this engine but based on all the other pull results, its going to be similar to the Superchip.
How did you obtain your Ford? Some overseas Fords will have a USA ECU code, some won't. I've had good success with Diablo's sent to Finland, but then again, I've had an English Explorer that I could not obtain code for.
As to cost effectiveness, provided your driving habits stay the same, you'll get the same or slightly better mileage, not worse. Depending on fuel prices there, your fuel costs may stay the same or get slightly worse. The bigger the spread between regular octane and higher octane, the less likely it is that you'll break even on fuel costs. The higher the cost of fuel, given a small spread in price (example, $0.20), you may come out better with the chip if you getter mileage.
The minimum requirement is 91 octane. I don't know how its calculated there. Also, the higher your altitude, the lower the octane requirement.
Here's the info on the warranty: Ford cannot void the warranty simply for installing a chip. However, if the chip were to cause damage (extremely unlikely unless you left the battery connected and the keys in the ignition while installing) then that repair could be denied under warranty. Also, a dealer is free to deny covering any part under warranty, provided they have adequate reason. This does not mean the warranty is voided ---- it just means that particular dealer refuses to cover a repair.
Dealers are given this discretion with any possible-warranty repair, not just items associated with adding an aftermarket component. As I said, this doesn't mean the warranty is void, just that a particular dealer is refusing to honor the repair. You should be able to take it to another dealer with the warranty intact -- unless they can prove the aftermarket component caused damage.
