Well, it finally happened. Right after I thought to myself man I am glad the engine light hasn't come on it did.
Now for my question. I know you can purchase items that will read the computer and spit the problem source code back out to you, I was wondering if anyone here has them or have had any luck or problems with them in the past. Also about how much you may have paid for them.
Thanks.
I have one made by EQUUS .
they make TWO different code reader for fords.
The first one at $25 Can. has a light that blinks the codes out.
and the other at $85 Can. has audible beep as well as the light flash.
Wal-Mart sells them both as well as Canadian tire.
Check the www.canadiantire.ca web site,it might be in the electronic catalog.
I've been happy with mine.

I also have a ODB II Diagnostic Tester made by Actron. I first made the mistake of buying one that only went to 1986 for Fords. I then had to buy another one is compliant for all Domesti, Asian and European cars. It scans the computer and reads out the code. It also includes a book of the code meanings. It doesn't tell you how to correct the problem, but tells you what the symptom is. They also make Scanners that cost in the hundreds of dollars that tell you the code and the problem. I located this one on the internet and then found a great deal on Ebay.
