Hi to all, My Supercrew is a 2003 5.4 with 73,000 miles.
In the last 2 or 3 weeks I have noticed about 6 or 8 times when I turn the key in the starting position the gauge needles go all the way over to the right side of the dial. When the engine starts the needles go to the proper position.
The check engine lite does not come on and the truck runs fine. It does not do it every time. What could be causing this? If I went to Autozone and had them put the code reader on it would it show anything?
Has anybody else experienced this?
Thanks,
Ned
Only when my battery went bad but mine wouldn't start. Maybe yours is going bad. Mine was a Motorcraft battery which is a damn good battery but when the go bad they go BAD!
Likely dead battery. I just dropped a Duralast in my truck several months ago. I can run my 800 watt amp for hours before I have to worry about not being able to start my truck again.. hefty little battery.. only about 80 bucks.
