I really like my '03 Supercrew with 79K miles. It has been a great truck but it has developed a loud raspy, buzzing noise when the lock on the front passenger side goes on. That is the only door lock that does it. The lock still works. It just started several weeks ago.
Has anybody had this problem?

It only buzzes when the lock goes on. It doesn't do it when it unlocks. It doesn't do it when it is locked manually.

Replace your door lock actuators! Good luck!

 

Our 03' started that at 37K mi. Just out of warrenty of course. We now are @70K. Still buzzing but still works. From talking to several other 2003 super crew owner, four others in our neighborhood alone have replace the actuator. The right front only. Hmmmm... There are some instructions on the forums here about replacing the actuator. When I find it again I will post the link here. Good Luck
