well i wanna turn up my fuel are u suppose to turn the screw in or out for more fuel?? what sizse allen wrench and whats the easiest way to get to it and im curious why i have oil sittin where the glow plugs sit in the valleys?? i have a uddle of oil?? where would this be commin from could it push oil thru the glowplugs i havent got a chacne to go check it out or wat i guess it could be commin from the valve covers? i dont knhow i really think im done with this truck im still quite annoyed i have a real problem stayin at 60 in overdrive pullin my boat and 70 depends on the mood i guess cuz some days does better then others maybe the glowplugs are loose and lettin compression out?? i dont know all i kjnow is when i tow sometimes the egts get up to 1100 if im in overdrivetryin to go up the slightest hills it has to come out of overdrive yeah i know this is a long furom thing but im really tryin to talk my self outta sellin the truck i have so muich money into
and i dont know if its a exhaust leak or maybe the turbo leakin the boost out of something sounds like a hole in a tire hissing noise when driving it it seriously seems at times the thing does not have a turbo and it also seems slower then when i got the truck back and ive been runniin aditvies everytank!
Any exhaust leak will steal a lot of HP from a turbo. Do some searching with a mirror for the backsides of the exhaust in the turbo in/out area. Also look at the area of engine intake from turbo.
Sounds like you don't need to turn the fuel up yet, with those 1100 EGT temps. What you need to do is find out what else is wrong first. I would be suprised to see that high with stock fueling, if nothing else was wrong.
I agree with the previous posts, sounds like you are not building the boost pressure like you should.
well this motor isnt stock its been rebuilt by some place in flordia they obvoulsy adjusted the turbo to run 10 psi says my boost gauge but i have it hooked up thru the wastegate pressure line i guess and they turned the fuel up 1 flat for me cuz i wanted more power and id say i got bout15-20,000 miles on the motor now it seems to be quicker at night when the temps cool down to around 60-70?? i belive the exhaust leak is when it comes outta the turbo
but when i floor it without a load i will run around 800-900 and iusally dont stand on it that long cuz my tranny i gotta let off so my tranny can shift
oohh and i also my mechinic tried fixint the exhaust leak a few times and i guess thers NOO?? gaskets where the turbo in and out i gues?? i dont know i dont know much about it
well i had a problem on my leaking y pipe that went in the the up pipe to feed the turbo. i took the y pipe out. measured the opening it was 2 1/2 inches took the y pipe ground down the brunt up flange. took a piece of 2 1/2 exhaust pipe. and pressed it on the y pipe and then ground it down flush with the casting onthe y pipe too a file cleaned it up and then reinstalled it. it had a real good tight fit. and the leaking stopped there.
Word to the wise when towing. Never tow anything except a small trailer in overdrive. The transmission just can't handle it. Even if you have trick the trans out unless it has been purpose built by a shop that knows what they are doing and it has been set up with the right convertor and external cooler.
