Sploder Springs

Trying to get this project moving a little faster the engine is done, trans done. Entire fuel system replaced, brake's system replaced. Now for the suspension, I have dead leafs (there pointing to the ground)so time to upgrade blew most of the funds on the engine and tranny.

I want to put some sploders springs in it for now till i can get the funds for what i want. I have a rice burner for daily driver but it doesn't do to well off road. What years have compatible leafs for my truck?

well I believe its from 91 to 94 ford explorers. Check www.therangerstation.com to double check, they also have some sweet instructions on how to do it. From what I have read its really straight forward.

My rear leafs came out of a '98 4-door Explorer, the front coils came out of a '93 or '94 4-door (had to use the door jamb stickers to find a matching set for the GVWRs). I just happened on the leafs as an easy pull since someone had already liberated the vehicle of it's rear axle (all of 2 bolts and they were OUT!). Most all 4-door Explorer leaf springs are the same from '91-'98, but it is best to get a matched set of coils and leafs off the same vehicle. Usually, you can find a donor vehicle at the junkyard and spend maybe $50 for everything, unless you are stuck with only one junkyard that charges a mint for their parts. A word of warning, though, it is a pain in the butt to get the leaf spring bolts out (3/4" drive impact and a combo wrench worked for me!), and the coil lower mount nuts are slow-going at best. Just take your time and be very patient. Another word of warning, the resulting ride will be a little lifted, but also VERY stiff. Hope this helps.
