Decisions, decisions..

While picking up my skidplate at the local salvage yard I was also looking at a first gen sploder for the seats. I tool some time and noticed the sploder has pretty much everything I`ve been looking for in a sploder. Manual Tcase, 5 speed, and manual hubs. Heck, it`s even blue! interior is nice, gray in color. It`s missing the wheels, passenger front door, and heater controls. Yard owner said it was driven to it`s location but can`t remember what was wrong with it.. I`m tempted to see what he wants for the whole thing to build in the garage over the next year!

Might be a fun project and other than the door and heater controls, not much to get it on the road if the engine and drivetrain are sound.

If you can get the engine started in the yard then I would take it.

This place is like someone with an addiction asking another addict if they should continue.

Hey guys, I just found another neat Ford, should I buy it. It is in the bottom of the river and has been there for 40 years, but it might be a 32 pickup. I can get it for $500 and it will only take about another $50,000 to get it running. What do you think?

I can hear the chorus now! GO FOR IT! LOL

ah.. can't be much more of a project than your BII was, if it is a good rolling chassis, is it 4x4?

I once saw a guy get a german 1/2 track out of the Ionian sea using waterbed matresses, and ping pong *****. It was about 50 ft down and about a 1/2 mile off shore. It had been there since WWII. It Didn't start though :-)

Seriously if you get it cheap enough you can always get whatever part you need to fix it (new motor-new tranny), xfer case).

Just weigh the pricew you are paying for it by the amount of parts you Need.

Isn't there going to be a title issue if he buys a j-yard car and puts it on the street?

Justin, it might have a salvage title, but that really wouldn't stop getting it titled and licensed. If they have the title and it is clean, they can just transfer it.
