Well I found a local stereo shop and they had alot of kenwood cd players. I got a pretty decent one I w/ipod adapter. Putting it in was another story though. I hate undoing someone elses work and to put this cd player in required alot of it! Somewhere along the way someone took a old brown power chord to a lamp (as in table lamp) and used it as the non constant power supply going to the fuse box. I can't believe it even worked. I've never seen anything like it! Who in their right mind is too cheap to spend a dollar for a proper wire?? It's not even put into the fuse box right! lol
Or that they were lazy and didn't feel like going to the store, haha. I'll admit it, I've used speaker wire to extend some of my cables because the person who had my truck before me cut them off way back in the back and had an adapter.. but once my HU got stolen, the thief didn't have the courtesy to give me the adapter! The nerve!
Dual isn't that great, they're ok.. but I'd save up a little more money and then go shopping. I always felt like I had to have better and better so instead of spending $500 on a really nice HU (not that you need one like that, haha) I ended up spending over $1000 because I first bought a no-name brand (Walmart something or another..), then a Pioneer, then I moved up to a Blaupunkt (which is still a nice HU), and finally an Eclipse (original brand that was in my truck when I bought it.. but it got stolen).
But it looks like you went with Kenwood, so you couldn't have done too bad.
like the other guys said check out alpine, the pioneer decks are usually cheaper but the ipod cable is more expensive for them. When I bought mine the alpine cable was $40 and the pioneer was $80.
Edit: kenwoods a good brand, i didnt even look at them when i bought mine because almost no one in town sells kenwood
