I hear good things about cooper discoveries, but when I checked them out, thier as pricey as the bfg's. If you want a good agressive offroad tire at a decent price, trxus mt's are a good tire and are priced well.

I've got a 97 4.0 4x4 with manual. its got 20/21 on highway for years. I recently have been trying to get better, so i've been doing some mods, mostly aerodynamics. I'm up to 25 now and working on more. lots of good ideas at a website called gassavers.org. check it out. lots of experimenters over there.

One thing that I have found that seems to help is run all synthetic fluids, in the engine I run mobil1 and in the tranny, t-case and rear diff, I run royal purple. Synthetic in the engine helps, but in the whole drivetrain is where the biggest advatages lies. Also an e-fan can yeild some small gains. I have done so many things, all for power, but I can't complain about my mpg as an added bonus. The end result is my truck runs really strong and gets decent mpg to boot. To get 22 mpg around town with a 250 hp 4x4 truck with 4:10 gears and 32" tires isn't to shabby. I'm guessing at the 250 hp, with all the mods I've done, I don't know exactly what it is, but it's alot more more than the 207 that I started with. I know it runs circles around my buddies stock 05 4.0 4x4. My biggest improvement in power and mpg came frome the bama programer, it's the heart of my sucess.
