I'm new and have posted a few times. Anyway, I'm talking to a guy who has 97 F350 dually with 180,000 miles and he wants $9500. The problems are no tailgate, 10 inch crack in fiberglass on passenger side and speedometer doesn't work. It is a 5 speed and I'm thinking he is a little too high on his price. Truck is in pretty good shape other than that. What do y'all think?
try to talk him down to 9k seeing how with 180k miles you might need to replace things like fuel pump, vacuumn pump, a/c compressor etc... also the cost of buying a tailgate and fixing the fiberglass... ask if the guy has any maintanaince logs and things like that... don't be afraid to turn down the truck if you're not 100% secure with purchasing it... there are MANY trucks out there
I got my 97 single cab single wheel 4x4 a few years ago for 9K but it was in darn good shape and had a very good maitanaince record with it. Plus i knew the guy that had the truck, and he just put a new trans in it. Im like glasseater that seems a bit high for the stuff that you say that needs to be fixed/replaced

Where do you live? I'm in Bartlett just off of Memphis. There is a good looking F250 Crew in my area and he is asking $9800. I can't get edmunds or KBB to get much over $8500 for this.
do you know how long the speedo has not worked i an not sure but if the speedo does not work neither does the odometer some thing to think about take it for a ride and see if the miles rack up
