96 Coolant leak, Please help!!
You may remmber a thread a while back on a 96 with a coolant leak me a nd spivey1 were working on. Well now it's mine and the hunt continues for the reason for water in pan.
Anyway, I'm pulling the motor so I can get the pan off and try to see where it's comming from in the motor.
My question is getting the motor out without pulling the tranny too. Can it be done? How do you get the clutch off the flywheel when the bellhousings part of the tranny? I'm guessing it's like a TC on an auto ( unbolt through the inspection plate ) I just want to make sure. This is a ZF 5 speed 4x4 f250.
Also, Does anyone have a coolant flow diagram so I will know where to expext to see coolant first when I start putting it in the water pump, Apears that the coolant and oil go in opposite directions thought the cooler at least? Any experience or advice in the leak detection department woul be greatly appreciated.
Anyway this motors comming apart (so help me) and I've never been in one before, spent my previous years on Mustangs and this is my first diesel attempt.
Thanks for your help in advance!
