jr going to hendrick/replace busch
the only thing kyle busch is going to accomplish is getting puched out for the first time on the track.
his bichin and moaning and sloppy drivin got him axed
Meh, I'm not a fan of either. Will be interesting to watch.
One driver I have to respect is Mayfield for what he did to Sr and his comments afterward in the 2000 Pocono 500.
Leaving the track really pissed his team off.

JJ Yeley has pole and who gets top billing ... Jr. starting a mediocre 23rd.
Why is it that Jr. falls into the elite category based upon what he's accomplished over a career and most other driver are scored on what they've accomplished recently?
A great publicist has he.

Yes, you do make valid points about the driver being valuable in collecting data, but that's a 2 way street. A driver can tell the crew what the car right and doing wrong and they ( crew ) need to intrepret it and make the changes as they see fit. It's a team effort ( you probably know this ) and if the right people are not in the right places, everyone looks bad.
What is your experince in a stock car? Have you ever driven one? Have you ever been involved in a professional NASCAR team?
I have a 2 handicap in golf and that hardly makes anything I state about any PGA golfer credible because of my golf experience.
Lastly, your Jeff Gordon/Bill Davis posts was laughable. Do you think anyone from Bill Davis was happy about letting Gordon slip away? Are they going to tell anyone that they ( Bill Davis Racing ) dropped the ball? Probably not. According to Gordon himself in his book, his reasoning was that Davis wasn't ready to make the step up to Cup and couldn't give him any sort of concrete timeline. So when something obvioulsy better came along, Gordon took it.
Sounds like how Ford dropped the ball on the whole Kasey Kane fiasco.
Only experience with NASCAR was a very short stint when David Starr first came on the scene. So, my experience is basically non-existent.
The data 2-way is a great point. Jr. has basically the same team he had when his Dad passed away. When looking at can 50 guys in the shop be bad or 1 guy in the seat be bad, law of averages kind of take over.
Tony Jr. walked away for a reason a couple years ago. I suspect he was fed up. But that would be specualtion on anyone's part, regardless of which side of the Jr. bandwagon one is on.
I have read the passage you referenced in Jeff's book. And, ironically, it was basically the press release about the change from Bill Davis Racing to Hendrick.
BDR was an upstart program and had invested all their resources in getting Jeff to Cup in a BDR car. The point about Jeff is that he showed me what kind of character he had as a person by leaving. As you might guess, I'm kind of old school and don't cotton much to free agency in any sport.
Excellent post.

hey jr lover how many places did jr go up to finish where he did, and who did he finish better than??
traveled 18 spots forward, unlike busch who traveled backwards.

Look, this is a debate that cannot be won because it's an emotional stand. And I'm not sure why you think I'm a Bush fan.
I'm kind of partial to Denny Hamlin because of the FedEx commercials.

Hit the nail on the head with the emotional comment.
Also with the FedEx commericals. The one where he is bump drafting his neighbor with the lawn tractor cracks me up.......

its emotional because you stated hes a mediocre driver, and hes flat out not. mediocre drivers dont have 17 wins in eight years because alot of drivers in nextel dont have 17 wins in 8 years, so there must be a bunch of mediocre drivers other than jr.
