Just to add to the discussion, I have been told by two different Ford Service depts. that my stock LSD will break away(open) at a mere 22lb-ft of torque. I believe them, because our roads are snow packed 5-6 months of the year, and we all know how easy it is to spin tires on our rigs...

Any input??
Yes -- don't add the prescribed amount of friction modifier. Change your diff fluid and try it first without any modifier. Make a couple tight turns and see if you get rear end chatter/inside wheel breaking loose. If you do, add half the amount (2 oz. I think) and try again. Basically if there's too much friction modifier, the clutches will slip too much making your rear end "limited grip"...
Guess I am the lucky one in that i have a 3.73 open diff, that way I don't think I can get by with it and just gonna say the heck with it and put in a detroit locker.

yep it's real easy, put the wife in the truck on some slick wet grass, then when she isn't looking unlock one front hub. She gets stuck and I get told ok you better be putting that locker in this thing so I don't get stuck anymore.
