I just received the Diablo Delta Chip for my 1998 5.4L Navigator (VXX2). With the switch in the stock position, everything works fine. In the performance position, the engine starts, but the "check engine" light stays on solid and the "theft" light flashes. I've taken the ECU out, checked and re-cleaned the ECU circuit board and don't believe I have a connection problem.
I've checked the pdqperformance jumper page too. I don't have any of the jumper blocks that are shown in any of the pictures. And it doesn't appear that the ECU was reprogrammed by a dealer.
I would appreciate any insight someone might have on this.
The pictures PDQ supplies are examples. There's more than one PCB layout that is affected but all the affected boards have the jumper locations with the jumper missing. That's what you need to look for.
The flashing anti-theft light always means:
1. contacts not completely cleaned
2. computer has been reflashed
3. computer has missing jumper with some 1998-2000 Fords
Try recleaning the contacts. If the problem persists then you'll need to contact us on Monday to arrange to send your computer. A read of it can be done and if its been reflashed we'll reprogram the chip for it. If its the contacts we can handle that too.
Ken,
I took out the ECU and checked it again. The contacts appear to be clean and there's no obvious place to solder a jumper. I'll call tomorrow (Monday) to make arrangements to send you the ECU.
One more thing, the 3-position LED switch does appear to change colors depending on the position. In position 1 (performance) it's green and in position 3 (stock) it's off.
