first off let me say hello. i joined this site in hopes of finding something that has been alluding me for quite some time. the closer that i get to finishing my truck the more of a headache its becoming. does anyone know where i can pick up a set of marker lights that went on the upper part of the cab behind the door. if memory serves me they were about 10" long and had several small lights in an amber tube with chrome end caps. every parts supplier i have contacted has an idea of what i'm talking about. any help would be greatly appriciated
i think so. not sure what its called. I'm trying to replicate my dads old ford pickup. i distinctly remember them being there but i can't seem to find them anywhere. i cant even find a picture of a truck with them. i have a few regular photographs of my dads truck but the angles are off to where i can't tell for a fact if they were or wern't there.

Welcome to FTE
There are no "opera" or courtesy lights on the exterior of an F100/350, Bronco, or Econoline from this vintage. In fact, there are none from 1915 thru 2007 on any Ford truck. Someone added something from another vehicle, or an aftermarket source.
Mil1ion, with his Lincoln Town Car picture, shows one example of an "opera" light, or courtesy light, but there are 100's of different FoMoCo types, and 1000's more from other manufacturers and the aftermarket segment.

the more i looked thats what i was starting to think but i just checked out a limo parts website and i guess thats what they were... I should have posted that question a long time ago. I would have asked the old man but its going to be his 60th birthday present. maybe he was trying to start a trend?

When you posed this question here on FTE, it was answered by this "old man." I'm 62!
POST # 7 >> Strips? Molding strips? The side marker lamps are enclosed by the upper side mouldings on 1973/79 Ford F100/350's. Are those the lamps you are refering to?

Some chain parts stores still carry them too - I used to use them as running lights on my boat trailer, Checker Auto sold the foot long jobs for around $10 a set.
