Anyways, judging by the old pair that came off my axles, I think that they seperate where the zipper-cloth is glued to the rubber. It didn't take any effort to free the zipper from the old boot.

what are you doin about brakes?.....im guessin this is goin in a full time offroader right.....so pinion brakes?.....im gonna keep em street legal so the cheapest i found wheel brakes for is 1500!!! it sucks...

(those page's aren't in TheRipper's thread, "Links to Rockwell info blah blah", but read all that too, lots of good info...

I think I'm going to go and pick up my Rock's tomorrow... but I have to make a call or two first.
Read those links. It will probably end up being $150 for a pair rotors, plus F350 (not F550 like they say) calipers & pads. Say $120 for that...

that will be around $540 total, for disc's on all 4 corners

Edit: nah, I'm gonna pimp it on the street a little bit, and **** some people off

well i'm only running 12" of lift... so I got 6" leaf springs from Skyjacker, and then fabricated 6" shackle reversal/drop hangers for the front, and then lowered the front hanger and flipped the rear shcakle to a compression-style on the rear axle. Make sense?

Rear:

makes perfect sense i was going to do that with my truck but i have coil springs up front and dont know how to fabricate anything to make a lift outta that in the front. plus i have a 2000 dodge ram and they dont have any room to hack fenders to mount bigger tires so i need all the lift i can get to fit 48's. and im going to need at least 17" of lift to fit those. im running a 7" skyjacker right now with a 3" body and im runnning 40" tractor tires right now but could prolly only fit 41's maybe 42's but i need to find some big lift springs

Thats what your front looks like right?
You could fabricate a lower spring mount from the frame, but make em hella stout.

But in all honesty, I think I would just bite the bullet, buy some coilovers, and set up a 4 link.

in reality, big leaf springs are no bueno. I have right under 12" lift, and wish I had less. However, in order to run Rockwells and not modify my engine crossmember, it is necessary that I have a minimum of 12" to clear the differential. I may have to clearance the engine crossmember in the end anyways. Gigantic banana leaves are not good for flex, at all. I would urge you to attempt to stay under 8" leaves, and then run a 6" drop hanger on the front, and if you absolutely had to, use elevated spring perches on the Rockwells. once you get into the 12+ leaves, they get kinda stiff.

well the truck is strictly deep mud nothing of the sort of rock crawling or anything like that it just sees mud and lots of deep mud lol my truck with 12" of lift could clear 42"s at most and i need to fit at least 46"s. . ok heres my scenario now: i have stock 1500 springs, it has 2 blocks in the rear with stock springs and im sitting at 7" of suspension lift so i f just added 12" springs that would lift me how much higher? then i still have the option of dropping the shackles like you do. how much of a lift did you gain with just dropping the shackles? i confused if i just added 12" springs to my setup now what would i gain for clearance?

i am highly.....HIGHLY!!!! against the big smiley leaf springs.....you have a coil truck now and it rides pretty good....right?... anything over 12" springs are like riding on concrete......even in a mud truck.....you dont you back going out b/c of leafs.....i dont understand why you would want leafs.....you are already set up for coils, why not just run some coils and have less fab?
