Crawl under there and look for soot. You can also feel around the flange (make sure it's cool) and see if your fingers get sooty. I looked at mine last night and I have a very small amount of soot in one little spot on the left one. Going to keep an eye on it and then go for the bellowed up pipes that I posted a link to.

Besides the up-pipe to y-pipe donuts, are there any other donuts, gaskets, or o-rings which I will need to replace when putting the turbo and other things in that area back on the truck?
You will need to buy turbocharger pedestal o-rings. There is one small and one large one at each end of the pedestal (top and bottom). Use this link to get the turbo out.
I was curious so I called Ford to see about getting replacement parts to fix my leaking up pipes.
Up pipe to Y pipe donut : $36.93 each
Turbo seal kit : $85.00
Y pipe to turbo gasket : $8.51
Up pipes : $85.53 and $59.78
Seals and donuts total : $167.37
Up pipes total : $145.31
For a grand total of $312.68. No wonder everyone keeps refering to them as the Ford "stealership."
I wouldn't even bother with the ford up pipes and donuts, they are crap. Get the IH bellowed pipes, they will cost you a little more, but I think they are worth it if you are going to keep your truck a while.
