I have a 2002 F-250SD, V-10 and am thinking about getting a Diablo chip. My computer code is YEU2. I live in Denver and spend a lot of time in the mountains above 9000 Ft. I do tow a camper that is about 5000lbs. I am looking for a little better towing in the mountains. The highest octane I can find around here is 91. Can I get a chip for my code and can I use it with the gas that I have available? Would I be better off with the micro tuner or the Diablo chip? I am looking for the most that I can get out of the gas that is available. Just let me know so I can either order the chip or keep dreaming. Thanks for your time and effort.
The octane is fine. The minimum required is 91 for a chip, and octane requirements go down with altitude. If you plan to change tire size or gearing you're better off paying the extra cash for the tuner as Diablo has had problems with such calibrations on the V10. If switching settings on the fly is more important, then the Diablo is the way to go.
I ordered the Microtuner last night. Since you did not say yes or no on my code, I assumed that either the tuner or the Diablo will work with my code. I should have waited for verification but you know how we are with new toys. Thanks again.
The tuner does not require you to give us your code. If your code isn't recognized by it, it makes a copy of your computer into itself. You then ship the tuner to Superships and they update for your code.
