A couple of years ago, I bought a custom-tuned Diablo chip for a '97 Mercury Mountaineer V8 from ***** Performance. I want to get the chip retuned since my dad now has the vehicle and wants different parameters, but ***** changed to SCT and no longer services Diablo. Does anyone have a favorite Diablo programming place that they prefer? Please provide a number, website, or thread link.
The mods that I did to it were FMS headers and MAC cold air intake as EGR delete and special shift patterns on the 87 octane tow/performance and 92 octane tow/performance programs. It no longer has the cold air, and dad wants to have the 92 octane program changed to an 87 octane fuel economy mode.
Does the chip have any code written down on the pull-tag?
Is your father willing to lose power? That's what's going to happen if you want it programmed purely for economy. There aren't dual use (power & economy) 87 programs from Diablo at this point (though we've done custom stuff like this with SCT).
I don't see a pull-tag. Al that I see is IOII written above www.diablosport.com. This dual flip chip was programmed for a Ford SLL4 computer. I don't know if any info that I provided will help, but yes, my dad knows that he will lose power.
