remote starter problems

i figured i should post this in "aftermarket"

my remote starter worked like a charm for @ 38000 miles, then the battery went dead. replaced the battery, worked fine. while working in the rain the key pad got a bit wet, now, it works when it wants to...

so i thought the keybad was crap, but, when its not working, i go under the steering wheel and flip the off/ on switch back and forth, and the keypad works 2-3 times, then i have to flip the on / off again! what the heck?

i checked the connections behind the switch... seem tight.

what else should i check for?

thanks

for some reason i want to say the brand was "autostart" ? thats the name that pops into my head for some reason... the box is at my old house, i just moved... have to go grab that.

i wonder if i should call the dealership, maybe they ( who installed it ) has dealt with the same issue.. just havent had any time to really explore the problem.

thanks for your reply, ill be sure to post anything i find out

Welcome. We're going to need YMM to start.

The simple answer would be either it's an issue with the delay accessory power or your accy wire in the column/brain is getting continual power.
